Welcome To The Open Aikido Association, London
The OAA is a traditional aikido association. Founded in 1990, in 2002 as part of Kobayashi Dojos UK we were honoured to be appointed as official UK representatives of Aikido Kobayashi Dojos, Japan. Kobayashi Dojos UK now have dojos in London and Bristol (Ten Chi Kan Dojo and Fudoshinkan Dojo).
We follow the Aikido Kobayashi Dojos syllabus and style – combining fun with good, hard practice.
Our Yudansha gradings are held annually under the direction of Hiroaki Kobayashi Sensei, 6th Dan. As part of the Kobayashi Dojos extended family, we hold regular international seminars and welcome visiting aikidoka from all around the world and from many styles.

Koyanagi Shunichiro Sensei Course this weekend
Koyanagi Shunichiro Sensei will be down in Bath this weekend – more info @ Tenchinkan Dojo. In Justin’s words: “Really nice guy, great aikido, very good instructor. Recommended training if you can make it for a session (or two, or three)”

Possible Mimuro Sensei Christmas course, 19th of December
Update: due to everyone’s busy Christmas schedule, the course has been rescheduled for sometime in the new year. Meanwhile, for those who will be up north for the festivities, Mimuro Sensei will be giving a course in Manchester the 3rd of January.

Hiroaki Sensei in London
Aikido seminar in Central London with Hiroaki Sensei Fukudojocho Aikido Kobayashi Dojos Japan, 21st, 22nd & 23rd August 2009.
Another great course at the Somerstown Community Sports Centre. Lots of fun, weapons, and sweating. Not many pictures as per usual, since we were all busy on the mat.

Back To Three Nights A Week
Unfortunately due to a fall off in numbers, we are having to cancel Monday evening classes for the medium term at least. We will review this in the New Year and hopefully be able to reopen Monday’s at some stage.
