Welcome To The Open Aikido Association, London
The OAA is a traditional aikido association. Founded in 1990, in 2002 as part of Kobayashi Dojos UK we were honoured to be appointed as official UK representatives of Aikido Kobayashi Dojos, Japan. Kobayashi Dojos UK now have dojos in London and Bristol (Ten Chi Kan Dojo and Fudoshinkan Dojo).
We follow the Aikido Kobayashi Dojos syllabus and style – combining fun with good, hard practice.
Our Yudansha gradings are held annually under the direction of Hiroaki Kobayashi Sensei, 6th Dan. As part of the Kobayashi Dojos extended family, we hold regular international seminars and welcome visiting aikidoka from all around the world and from many styles.

Back To Three Nights A Week
Unfortunately due to a fall off in numbers, we are having to cancel Monday evening classes for the medium term at least. We will review this in the New Year and hopefully be able to reopen Monday’s at some stage.

New extra classes in London OAA
Along the lines of, ‘If you build it they will come’…
Well so many are coming that we need an extra night just to fit everyone in. So from November 5th we are now running classes 4 nights a week in the dojo. We’ve added Monday nights to our regular training schedule. Same time, same place, quite similar people.
This either means you have extra choice (and extra value of course) or you can train 4 times every week and reduce your exposure to non-aikido things.

Excellent and very inspiring course by Kobayashi Shihan in Bath. 4 days of fun and sweat. Very good attendance, with lots of people from many different associations. Exhausting and exhilarating.
Congratulations to Michael for passing nidan on the course!
Thanks to Jeff and everyone for all their hard work organising everything.
